Our Mission

Empowering Canon Photographers Through Transparency.

EOS Digital Info was born out of a simple necessity: the right to know your equipment’s true history. Since the first build, we have remained committed to providing a 100% free, open-source utility that bridges the gap between Canon’s professional hardware and the users who rely on it.

We believe that diagnostic tools shouldn’t be hidden behind paywalls or expensive service centers. By leveraging the official Canon EOS SDK, we provide a safe, local environment for checking shutter actuations and managing metadata without compromising your privacy.

Updated to support the latest Windows 11 architecture.

Built on Engineering, Not Just Code.

We prioritize data integrity and camera safety above all else. Our development follows a “First, Do No Harm” protocol for every shutter check.

🏗️

Native Canon SDK Hooking

Unlike web-based tools that guess shutter counts via EXIF data, we use Native SDK Hooking. This allows the software to query the camera’s internal EEPROM directly via USB, providing the most accurate “True Count” available outside of a Canon Service Center.

🔐

The “Sandbox” Privacy Model

Your camera’s serial number and metadata are your business. Our software operates in a Zero-Connectivity Sandbox. No data packets are sent to remote servers, no tracking cookies are installed, and no telemetry is collected. It is safe, silent, and strictly local.

🛠️

Non-Destructive Protocols

The EOS Digital Info engine is designed with “Read-Only” priority for critical system sectors. When you sync the clock or edit owner metadata, the software uses verified Canon Write-Gate commands to ensure the camera firmware remains 100% stable and intact.

“Precision is the difference between a guess and a diagnosis. EOS Digital Info provides the precision every serious photographer needs before buying or selling used gear.”

The Strength of a Global Community.

EOS Digital Info is not owned by a corporation; it is sustained by the passion of independent developers and photographers. By maintaining an Open Source codebase, we ensure that the tool remains free of malware, backdoors, and commercial bias.

Our contributors come from all over the world—from software engineers in Europe to professional studio techs in Asia—all working together to keep the Canon EOS SDK layers compatible with the latest Windows updates.

Transparency Report

Running a high-traffic resource site requires hosting and maintenance. To keep EOS Digital Info free for everyone, we rely on:

  • Zero-Sale Policy: We never sell your data or email address.
  • Community Testing: Every new camera model is verified by actual users before being added to the compatibility list.
  • Educational Focus: Our goal is to educate photographers on digital asset maintenance, not just provide a download.
